At the time of the installation of the Gamma Eta Chapter the music chairman, Dr. Stanley D. Kirton, stated “Mu Phi Epsilon will be a great inspiration to the women music students to work for better grades and improve the stature of the music department.” The charter members were a friendly group of women who had a strong with each other with musical talent from pianist to singers.

After 1987 the Gamma Eta chapter was inactive which resulted in the loss of the charter. With great efforts from Dayton Alumni President Jean Putnam, District director Dorothy Ann Niebes, Zenobia Perry and Dawn Williams, the Gamma Eta chapter was re-installed on May 6th 2000 with ten members:

  • Nealita Banks

  • Charcarol Goodall
